5 Steps to Lodge the new ATO MyTax for 2015

 What is MyTax?

This year the Australian Taxation Office has made it even easier for those with simple tax returns. Gather your user name and password for MyGov and have your group certificate ready (just in case) and grab a coffee.  This year you can log into your MyGov account and lodge online and with your mobile phone.  The technology is making it easier for us by the day. 

5 Step Process

1. My Tax is a streamlined tax return and is available on your phone, tablet and computer.
2. My Tax will prefill all your information from previous returns, your employer, bank and more.
3. Easy to use log into your MyGov account and link to My Tax.
4. Review any changes and add any missing details
5. Submit.

Gone are the days you sit there with all your paperwork for one group certificate. This is such a easy option for those not needing an accountant.

Of course this is for basic returns Salary and Wages, bank interest, deductions for work and basic tax offsets, including private health.  You must also be an Australian Resident.  If you have any more then E-Tax is still for you this year.

The downside is if you want to make sure it can pre-fill everything for you you will need to wait until the beginning of August all your information should be there to update.
